• Focus on the Family James Dobson (Ph.D.) is one of the best known experts on the family in the United States. This web site is an outstanding resource for material and information on all aspects of the family. Dr. Dobson was for 14 years an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He also served for 17 years in the Attending Staff of Children's Hospital of Los Angeles in the Division of Child Development and Medical Genetics.
• Promise Keepers has rapidly grown to be one of the most outstanding ministries in the country. It was started by Bill McCartney. At the time he was the head football coach at the University of Colorado, where his teams were twice national champions. This ministry, which helps men become more Godly, faithful, and effective husbands and fathers, was so much on his heart that he resigned one of the top coaching jobs in the nation to devote full time to PK. • Money Matters Larry Burkett is one of the most trusted financial advisors in the Christian world. He gives sound advice from a biblical perspective.

Alcohol/Drug Addiction

• Teen Challenge has long been recognized as one of the most successful drug treatment programs anywhere. Many programs claim this for themselves but in the case of Teen Challenge this has been documented by studies done by both the United States Government and a university study by the University of Tennessee. Their success rate is even more remarkable when you consider that they evaluate success not just by freedom from drugs and alcohol but by gainful employment and even freedom from cigarettes. Teen Challenge is a residential program.

Sexual Bondage

• Exodus is an international umbrella organization offering freedom from homosexuality through the power of Jesus Christ. Exodus has faithfully gone about their work for 25 years and has seen thousands of men and women set free. While many debate the possibility of change these men and women can simply say "I once was blind but now I can see." Exodus is an oasis of hope for those who struggle with unwanted same sex attractions.
• Living Hope is a metroplex affiliate of Exodus international. It offers support groups - for same sex strugglers, both men and women, as well as for parents and friends, peer counseling, and a Living Waters program for more in depth study.
  
  

Prison/Jail

• Prison Fellowship was founded by Charles Colson and he is the director of Prison Fellowship (PF). In the same way that Teen Challenge has impacted the drug and alcohol treatment world PF has impacted rehabilitation of those who have served time in jails and penitentiaries. Colson believes that the prison system is basically flawed as far as being able to successfully rehabilitate inmates. Again, the success rate of PF speaks for itself. This site also has a link to "BreakPoint", a series of commentaries on culture that offers insight on topics ranging from Apologetics, Law/legal items, entertainment and many others. In my opinion this is one of the best, most informative sites on the web.

Christian Radio

These sites have information on two of the top Christian radio stations in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex. Various types of music, commentaries, and Christian teachers are featured. KLTY's site also features various other topics including a humor page.

Christian Books

• Christian Book Distributors or CBD is an excellent site to look for Christian books ranging from old and new theological texts to contemporary Christian fiction. Music and videos are also available. Most items are discounted and many are clearance priced.

General Information

• Probe Ministries is a Christian think tank. They do an excellent job of articulating a Christian worldview. They have top notch thinkers who speak and write on a variety of topics. For anyone who thinks that Chrisitanity is not intellectually defensible, this is an excellent place to start searching.
• Intouch Ministries features Charles Stanley who is a past president of the Southern Baptist Convention. He is an excellent preacher and this is a helpful web site with articles and resources on a number of topics.
• GospelCom is a site with links/pages for a number of Christian ministries and topics. It has daily devotionals, news that affects Christians around the world, and helpful recommendations on many different subjects. Well worth checking out.
